Tecnau Now Featuring New Products at Graph Expo 14
Billerica, MA (September 28, 2014) – In addition to unveiling its new name, Tecnau (formerly Lasermax Roll Systems) is also unveiling a selection of new products at this year’s Graph Expo exhibition in Chicago, September 28 – October 1. Sharing the spotlight are the Roll 30 thirty-inch wide web roll-to-roll solution, PageReady NL near-line cutting/stacking finishing solution for large sheet output from sheet-fed digital presses, and Zero Speed Splicer u40 splicing unwinder system.
Tecnau shows a technology demonstration of the Roll 30 roll-to-roll solution in its booth #220 at Graph Expo. Roll 30 features the Unwinder u30 and Rewinder r30, feeding and rewinding rolls up to 30.5” wide to digital printers running at speeds up to 800 feet per minute. Featuring an innovative airshaft design, the Roll 30 runs a broad spectrum of media to accommodate a wide range of possible applications. The proven TC 8300 dynamic perforator is running in-line with the Roll 30 solution, demonstrating page-by-page on-demand perforating capability in response to a printed mark recipe.
PageReady NL also appears in Tecnau booth 220. The unit feeds sheets as large as 13 x 19” for trimming, cutting, merging and stacking multi-up output, automatically transitioning between jobs in response to JDF job information received from HP Indigo digital front ends. PageReady NL reduces manual print handling and consolidates labor intensive finishing operations into a single, efficient process.
Rounding out Tecnau booth 220 exhibits is Tecnau’s popular double-cutting Cutter c23, as part of the Stack 2320 cutting/stacking system for high speed digital web printers. Cutter c23’s double-cutting capability permits removal of flush-lines from color inkjet printer output as well as processing of bleeds. Stack 2320, with added Unwinder 550 and Stacker s20 modules, features Smooth-Web technology for reliable operation (with all motors synchronized throughout the finishing line). The established WebVision quality monitoring system is shown on the Stacker 2320 line; WebVision’s new PreView remote programming station is also demonstrated.
Elsewhere on the show floor, the Tecnau Zero Speed Splicer u40 is feeding an Océ ColorStream 3900 in the Canon booth (#613). Zero Speed Splicer u40 allows roll changes with virtually no printer downtime, maximizing printer productivity and eliminating paper waste associated with printer stoppages due to roll depletion. The splicer was recently approved by Canon for installation on the ColorStream 3900 after a joint integration effort between the two companies.
